My mother had an injection in her one working eye today. She has them regularly to keep her macular degeneration at bay. The treatment makes her vision blurry for a few hours but it does not prevent her from telling me how to drive a car.
‘Watch yourself in this car park. You’ve put your indicator on too early. Stay in the right lane. You’ve put your indicator on too early. No, she gives way to you. Your wheels are over the line. Slow down. I told you about your indicators.’
When she was able to drive, she could parallel park in one smooth movement and do a three-point turn with one or two points. I tend to go for a 10-point turn. It drives her wild.
