Open Cardboard Boxes

I was carrying a large porcelain tureen in my hands. It was white with a delicate blue pattern, big enough to contain a leg of lamb and roast potatoes. My alarm clock went off and I began frantically trying to put the tureen down safely so I could turn off the alarm but there were no flat surfaces in the tiny room, which was full of open cardboard boxes.
