A Night at the Movies
July 2, 2021
It’s Friday night here in lockdown Sydney so I decided to go wild and watch a movie. I found one starring Jodie Foster and thought it probably had merit. But strangely, it turned out to be an action flick. Worse still, it was a bang-bang Gerard Butler film.
I kept watching the thing because I’m not a quitter and, well, I was waiting for Jodie Foster to appear. An hour or so of guns and explosions, and Jodie Foster never once showed her face.
Of course she didn’t. I’d clicked on the wrong movie and lost an hour and a half of my life. I could have done something much better with those 90 minutes. I could have knitted my cats waistcoats or written a letter to Jodie Foster to say how good she was in ‘The Mauritanian’.
